Overview

Porting your telephone number to a new service provider helps keep business communications uninterrupted. This guide covers what you need to submit to port a US telephone number into your account, plus key notes for Canadian ports.

Steps to port your US telephone number

1) Prepare required information

• Location ID

  • To access your Location ID, navigate to Settings (bottom left of screen) > Business Profile.

• Customer name

  • Must match the name on the telephone bill.

• First name

• Last name

• Business name (if applicable)

• Service address

  • Must be a physical location, not a PO Box.
  • Address
  • City
  • State or Province
  • Zip or Postal Code

2) List telephone numbers to port

• Include all the numbers you want to transfer.
  • Number type (wireless, landline, or toll-free)
  • Phone number(s)
  • Wireless account number (for wireless numbers)
  • PIN or last 4 of SSN (for wireless numbers)
  • Service provider

3) Prepare a Letter of Authorization (LOA)

• Ensure it is in PDF format and does not exceed 4MB.
• Use this template and complete it with the information above: BLANK_US_LOA.pdf

4) Get a recent phone billing statement

• Must be a scanned or electronic copy in PDF format.
