Overview

In this article, we will walk you through how to add interest selections to your signup form so that when someone opts in, they are automatically tagged based on what they chose and placed into the right group for targeted emails.

How This Works

When you add a multi-select field to your opt-in form, your contacts can choose their interests at the moment they sign up. An automation then runs in the background and applies a tag to their record based on their selections. From there, you can use that tag to send targeted emails or build a Smart List that automatically groups contacts by interest.

Once set up, the whole process runs automatically every time someone fills out the form.

Step 1: Add a Multi-Select Field to Your Form

  1. Go to Sites in the left menu, then click Forms
  2. Open your existing opt-in form, or create a new one
  3. In the form builder, drag a Multi-Select field into your form from the elements panel on the left

  1. Label the field clearly, for example: "What topics are you most interested in?"
  2. Add your interest options as the choices (for example: Meal Planning, Weight Management, Gut Health, General Wellness)
  3. Save your form

Tip: A multi-select field lets someone choose more than one interest. If you want them to pick just one, use a Dropdown field instead.

Step 2: Set Up an Automation to Apply Tags
